I went out to a small lake here in Kansas this past saturday. Half the lake was froze and the water temp was 33.8 degrees. I fished a football jig in about 20 foot for about 45 minutes and caught 0 fish. I swithced to a shakie head with a 4.5 in Plum Go 2 worm and it was on. I would cast it out to about 25 foot water and let it sit on the bottom. Very suttle movement. About every 20 seconds i would pick it up and if there was weight to it fish on. I ended up catching 48 bass in about three hours. All of my fish were caught on 1 worm. After about 30 the head of the worm wouldn't stay on the shackie head so I bit off about 1/4 to 1/2 inch and rebaited it. Amazing Stuff. | |
